DETROIT BOOK FESTIVALS! AUTHORS WANTED!

Good Day Fellow Authors,

Looking for a great place to sell books? HURRY and grab a table at one or both of these events. The Michigan International Books Festival takes place October 29th through 31st at the prestigious Laurel Park Place Mall in Livonia, Michigan. It's an upscale fully enclosed mall with 15,000 daily shoppers looking to make purchases. This mall is anchored by Von Maur and Parisians department stores, both of which caters to an affluent consumer. Join Actress and Author Victoria Rowell as she sells and signs her book, "Secrets of a Soap Opera Diva."

The International Urban Book Festival, Detroit is the first book event of its kind in the area. Detroit and its suburbs combine to place the buying power of more than three million African Americans consumers in the front of your author's table. The Northland Mall is the perfect venue for this inaugural event. This enclosed mall has more than 2.5 million square feet of retail space with anchor stores Macy's and Target. 10,000 plus daily shoppers walk through Northland's doors looking to shop and support their community. November 5th through 7th are the dates for our festival and the beginning of the all important Holiday Shopping Season. What better time to place your books in the faces of potential purchasers?

Why a shopping mall? Simple; any author who has returned from an outdoor festival with soggy inventory will agree that a place where there can be no rain out is perfect. Top that with current the indigenous shoppers and you've hit the jackpot.

Be an author/vendor amongst the many attendees looking to buy what you have to sell, BOOKS. We will have literary workshops, lectures, conferences, panel discussions and classes. Everything from how to self publish your manuscript to eBook conversions. Did I mention celebrity authors? Yes, expect well known authors to be there selling and signing their books and greeting shoppers.

Author tables are only $225 for each weekend. Space is limited so don't delay. Log onto www.internationalbookexpo.com and choose the festival that you would like to attend. Click the link to download the "Author Application" fill it in with your isbn's, contact information and you'll be on your way. We even made it convenient to pay the fees right on our websites. We accept Visa, Master Card, American Express, Discover and PayPal. Remember spaces are limited, so reserve your table now.

Further information can be obtained by calling (313) 446-2262. See You There!

Kankakee Authors Fair

Hello,

It’s finally that time of year to begin thinking about the Kankakee Public Library’s annual Author Fair. The event will take place on Saturday, April 10th from 10am-2pm on the 4th floor of the library.

This event is free to authors who would like to participate. Each author will be provided with a table to display their books, chairs and a boxed lunch. Authors are responsible for bring their own books and cash to make change. We will be offering events for patrons throughout the day to help draw interest.

I will be able to accommodate 45-50 authors so I will be doing this on a first come, first serve basis.

If you would like to attend I am asking several things of you:

1. Please confirm that you would like to attend on this day.

2. Let me know exactly how you want your name to appear in the advertisements. Any titles, abbreviations, or hyphens?

3. Let me know if you have any special seating requests. Such as who you would like to sit next to or any extra chairs, etc.

4. Please provide me with a list of books that you have written and a 1-5 sentence biography of yourself that you would like to be printed in a program to be distributed on the day of the event.

In the next several weeks I will be working on advertisement for the Author Fair. When I finish the flyer I will be forwarding a .jpg version to your email so you can distribute as you see fit. We send press releases out to all the local papers and radio stations as well as hang the flyers in local businesses. This year we will have 55-60 authors in attendance so it is going to be impossible to put everyone’s names on the flyers but all names will be included in the advertisement on our website.

You are welcome to forward this information on to other writers.

Thank you and I look forward to seeing you all soon.
